Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do we depart from? We depart from Steamers Quay in Woodquay just a short walk from the city centre. The old railway line is a local landmark.

  • Where can I Park? Parking is limited around Woodquay and is mainly for residents. There are two large car parks within a 10 minute walk of our set off point. One at the Cathedral and one on the Dyke Road. Please note these are pay and display car parks so make sure you get your ticket.

  • What clothing should I wear? The west of Ireland is famous for its changeable weather and as such we advise that people dress appropriately and bring rain gear. As our boat is open to the elements there is a possibility that you get wet however we try our best to only conduct tours on days where there is less of a chance of rain. We can supply basic rain ponchos if needed.

  • If the weather is bad will the tour go ahead? If the weather is too bad we may not operate the tour, we will advise you before your departure time and reschedule your booking.

  • Can I bring my own food and drinks? Yes, however we encourage only snack food if required, unless you are on a half or full day tour. Our crew will discuss your individual needs and advise you depending on the tour.

  • How can I pay? We accepted cash and card on the day of the tour. Please see sumup.ie for a full list of accepted cards.

  • How can we book a tour? The best way to book a tour is through our Instagram or Facebook, however you can also email us on wildgalway@gmail.com or contact us via our phone numbers on the site.

  • Will I get a lifejacket? Yes, you will receive one of our professionally maintained automatic life jackets for the duration of the tour. Lifejackets must be worn at all times.

  • Can I bring my kids? Absolutely!! We are very child friendly, a lower limit of three or four years of age may apply in certain cases. Each small child must have an adult to supervise them at all times.
